Tsuen Wan The Mills | The Mills Presents Mars in its Original Form with NASA Data and Establishes the First 'Mars Tourism Bureau', Offering the 'Next Stop: Mars' Holiday Program

Description
The Landmark Conservation Project of Nan Fung Group, The Mills, is dedicated to using creativity and technology to perpetuate and transform Hong Kong's textile history and spirit, bringing diverse artistic, cultural, and retail experiences to the public, inspiring a new generation of creators, and bringing more possibilities to the community. This Mid-Autumn Festival, The Mills Fabrica will launch the universe's first 'Next Stop: Mars' holiday program from September 19 to October 26! A giant Mars installation with a diameter of 6 meters, designed with reference to data from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States, is about to make its grand landing at The Mills, transforming into Mr. MARS, the Director of the Mars Tourism Bureau, to present a stellar, weightless journey during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday for busy Hong Kongers!
A 6-meter-diameter glowing Mars installation restores the true appearance of the planet. The Director of the Mars Tourism Bureau arrives on Earth to greet travelers.
To mark this significant occasion, the Mars Tourism Bureau will send its director, Mr. MARS, to Earth via a 'Molecular Separator' to meet everyone at The Mills Fabrica and explore the journey to Mars together. He will transform into a giant glowing Mars installation, the largest in Hong Kong, with a diameter of 6 meters, hanging in The Hall. Visitors are welcome to sit back in camping chairs and enjoy a close-up view of this red planet.
The giant Mars installation is designed and crafted based on NASA's aerial photography and data of Mars, presenting the reddish surface and topographical features of the planet. The installation features a pair of over 60-inch LED dual-screen glasses, symbolizing the eyes of a thinking planet, welcoming visitors with Mr. MARS' friendly and humorous gaze. It will also play promotional videos for Mars tourism, using interesting animations to inspire imaginations of life on Mars and attract visitors to embark on a journey to the red planet immediately!
Discover the unique landscapes of Mars and embark on an interstellar holiday that blends science fiction and science.
Humans have always been curious and imaginative about life on Mars. Extending this imagination, Mr. MARS will lead us to explore the red planet, from envisioning light and brisk steps on its surface with only 38% of Earth's gravity to admiring the polar ice caps at its north and south poles, climbing Olympus Mons, the tallest volcano in the solar system, and marveling at the majestic scenery of Valles Marineris, the largest canyon on Mars... These unique Martian landscapes represent our current understanding of the red planet, along with a series of science-based information to prepare for the journey. Through this holiday program that intertwines science fiction and science, we broaden our perspectives and imaginations about the universe and life.
'Universal Homogenizer' photo opportunity - Find your best interstellar travel form
Following the instructions of Mr. MARS, the Director of the Mars Tourism Bureau, visitors can step up to an interactive installation called the 'Universal Homogenizer' and transform into cross-alien species! Comprised of different displays, the 'Universal Homogenizer' will combine your body with various alien creatures to determine the most suitable alien form for your Mars journey. Don't forget to snap a photo of your sci-fi look, each of which is paired with an Earth souvenir such as seeds, a shepherd's whistle, a camera, and more as a gift to your Martian companions, fostering exchange and connection.
